Meet Edlio Team Member, Qiana Patterson. Okay, maybe she isn’t a movie star, but it’s likely you recognize her name because Qiana is Edlio’s COO (Chief Operating Officer). It’s her signature you see at the bottom of any official Edlio correspondence, but she does way more than just sign important documents. Now, it’s time to learn all about the person whose name you see so frequently when working with Edlio.
As COO Qiana honestly does anything and everything here at Edlio. It’s her responsibility to make sure the staff is happy and able to perform their duties in a comfortable environment. In fact, Qiana describes this as her first thought when coming to work. Her second thought is how can she make our product the very best for the clients we serve. In short, Qiana is the person who keeps the wheels moving on a very fast paced engine that we call Edlio.
If Qiana isn’t at work she is usually reading tech blogs, tweets and articles. When she isn’t thinking and breathing ed-tech, she spends a fair amount of time hanging out with friends, hiking, practicing yoga, reading and enjoying really good food. As a self-proclaimed foodie, she enjoys nibbling on foods from around the globe…from dives, to food trucks to fancy-smancy eateries. Qiana is also a former educator and staying connected and involved in the lives of young people is still one of her true passions, so she finds time to volunteer with several local agencies in Los Angeles.
In staying true to our “Meet Edlio” series, it’s time for the highly anticipated interview:
If you could describe yourself in only three words what would they be?
Hmm…three words… picky. determined. giving.
If you could have one super power what would it be?
Wait would I have to give up the ones I already possess? ![]()
Asher: Oh, Touché. That is the wittiest answer I have heard so far.
If you could have dinner with one historical figure who would it be?
Hatshepsut (She is generally regarded by Egyptologists as one of the most successful pharaohs, reigning longer than any other woman of an indigenous Egyptian dynasty.) I would ask her for advice…
If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?
Tough call…let me knock off a few places to visit on my bucketlist and then we can revisit this question.

Are you ready to guess which student is Qiana in this 1st grade class photo?

I’m kind of in love with Qiana. And I felt this way long before I knew she was COO of Edlio.
But I digress. Somehow she got involved with redesigning my school’s website and it’s the 2nd most amazing, beautiful creation I’ve ever seen. The first was earlier today when I was flexing in the mirror waiting for the water to get hot in the shower. But I digress again. Anyways, she sent me a bunch of websites to look at to see what I liked, then she took my big ol wish list and built me the most beautiful website I have ever seen. It’s even more beautiful than what I saw in the mirror earlier today. And she did it all for no charge! Oh. Emm. Gee! Free never happens any more, but it did with Qiana. I couldn’t be happier with my website and I couldn’t be happier that she’s your featured employee in your blog. Good choice! Thank you Q!
